Week 48: Planting Main Crop Potatoes (Royal) and carrots sown on my Plot…

As last week, with some time off work (due to world issues beyond my control), I decided to plant my Main Crop Potatoes earlier than usual. Indeed, these have been chitting for a few weeks now and have developed some little side shoots so hopefully this earliness shouldn’t affect the end results. Indeed, I believe that British Farmers don’t ever chit their potatoes, so we shall have to see.

Main Crop Potatoes (chitted)

Holes dug for 20 seed potatoes (and more required!) but they do need some space to grow and develop.

The trowel indicates where I have planted some carrot seeds (next to the First Early Potatoes):

So making my bid, in uncertain times, to be a little more self-sufficient!
