Week 36 (Year 6): Winter Clearing, General Maintenance, Onions transferred into the Greenhouse & Winter Garlic Popping Up…

BRRRRR It’s cold down my plot. Yes, the weeds are dying back as have the crops but there are signs of new life (with the Over Winter Garlic) popping up through the soil.

Garlic coming up!

The Garlic

And some general clearing of weeds and older crops so it looks tidier:

Clearing the Fruit Bed with old Raspberries and Strawberry leaves

Formerly Runner Beans, removed and cleared

Fruit bushes at the front of the plot cleared and weeded.

And the Over Winter Onions (red and white ones) have been transferred into the Greenhouse having started off in seed trays in the garden. These use this useful space during the colder months, being protected and sheltered inside the Greenhouse. Whilst they don’t grow into huge exhibition sized onions, they are great for cooking and using at home.

New Red and White Onions inside the Greenhouse

And it’s a great produce which doesn’t really need much attention, they occasionally need watering but they’ll be alright inside the greenhouse.

The Plot

Rubbish awaiting to be removed from the plot

Must remember to pay my annual subscription soon.
