Year 2 Week 17: Transferring Melons & Squashes to the plot and my first American Gherkin…

The focus, after a busy week at RHS Hampton Court, was back to weeding. Given the beautiful heat wave we have been enjoying, the weeds have also enjoyed a growth spurt.

Weeding by the seating area with former pumpkin home covered with black matting.

My first American Gherkin.

Former Pentland Javelin Potatoes Raised Bed, now with Squash (x3). Patty Pan Twinkle, Kermit & Polo.

Transferred my Rugoso Di Cosenza Giallo Melons.

Transferred my Grafted Honeydew WaterMelon plant.

Looking forwards to visiting RHS Hyde Hall (with an organised trip planned from the Allotment Association). Part of the reason why I am growing Melons this year was after seeing Gardeners World visit and their extensive collection of Melons grown in hot beds last year…
