Week 48: We’ve started chitting …

Well, it’s Winter in the UK and rather cold to be working on the Allotment. With reduced sunshine hours and long cloudy days, I haven’t been down to Fulham Palace Meadows Allotment site much but started preparation for my new growing season. Seed Potatoes have been purchased and the process of chitting has started!

We’ve starting chitting…

My Main Crop potatoes (Sarpo Mira).

My Charlotte Potatoes.

Interesting as I do not believe Farmers lay out seed potatoes for chitting but plant them straight into the ground. Also I have started to plant some flowers (Sweet Peas) and some other vegetables (Peas & Beans):

New Mange Tout seeds planted in the Greenhouse.

New Sweet Peas planted in the greenhouse for Spring 2015.

More Peas and Beans.
