Week 13: Open Square Gardens Weekend

Another busy week getting ready for “Open Squares Gardens Weekend” with the whole allotment site open for a few hours for the general public to see. They had tours around the plot as well as sold cakes (and tea by our Tea Hut) and sold produce from the shop.

Around lunchtime, the Red Arrows flew over the allotments (after appearing at Trooping the Colour, a few miles down the road).

  1. Can’t believe the fantastic progress you have made in 16 weeks, quite remarkable, it looks so good now, hard to believe the first photos are of the same patch. Well done you. Really enjoyed the photos. Shame about your onions, I had trouble with my shallots, they had a kind of downey mildew and didn’t grow very big at all, the garlic had rust & I had to destroy it all except the elephant garlic which is still growing well. Good luck with all your crops they look amazing.
